Dry ice is below freezing (-109 degrees Fahrenheit), which makes it perfect for keeping ice cream frozen throughout the delivery window, but needs to be handled and disposed with care once your order arrives!
DO |
- Leave the dry ice in the box at room temperature to evaporate in a well-ventilated area. Leave the box lid slightly ajar and if possible, open a window to keep air circulating.
- Use heavy gloves, tongs, or both when handling dry-ice.
- Once fully evaporated, the dry ice will turn into a gas and you may safely dispose of the container.
DO NOT |
- Do not store in air-tight container when evaporating as it could explode.
- Do not put dry ice in the sink or trash before dry ice has evaporated. It can damage sinks and drains, or explode in the trash.
- Do not put in freezer (it could explode) or directly on countertops as it can cause the surface to crack.
- Do not handle with bare hands or put in mouth as it will lead to frost-bite (ice burn).
- Do not leave in reach of children and pets.
